The Toad is adapted to dry environments, contrary to the frog. Toads have brown skin for camouflage that is also dry and leathery for better water retention. The Common Toad is the most widely spread species of the family. The Colorado River Toad is also called a "psychoactive toad" for a toxic matter in its skin secretions.
