There are over 30,000 species of Tarantulas on the planet, and about 30 types of them live in America. Tarantulas can be found any place on earth except Antarctica. There are two Australian species, whose bites are dangerous. Tarantulas have 8 legs and 8 eyes, although they have a surprisingly poor vision. Their furry bristles act as sensory organs, and they can sense activity from long distances.
