These are oviparous species. Females lay 20-30 eggs per clutch. This species is not recommended for beginners, as it tends to have a very short life span in captivity. They require to be kept at the temperature of about 77-82 F with moderate to low humidity.

Chamaeleo gracilis was first described by Hallowell in 1842. Its body reaches the length of 16 inches. The skin color ranges from green to yellow and brown. These animals are often imported.
