Chamaeleo calyptratus is a popular captive bred exotic pet. Large and attractive reptiles, they are, nevertheless, high maintenance pets and require a knowledgeable keeper. These reptiles are native to southern Saudi Arabia and Yemen. The species is tolerant of temperature and humidity extremes.
