[an error occurred while processing this directive]

When choosing a red tail boa constrictor as a pet, visit the farm, but don't trust the pictures. Don’t feed raw chicken pieces from the grocery – they may be inflected with Salmonella bacteria. Wild-caught rodents and other animals may carry a variety of parasites and bacteria for which the snake has no immunity. If you cannot afford to buy the proper food, you shouldn’t buy the serpent of this type. When choosing a red tail boa constrictor as a pet, visit the farm, but don't trust the pictures.

In the wild, these serpents feed on a variety of prey – amphibians, lizards, birds, mammals, and other snakes. In captivity, they should be fed pre-killed rodents and, when adults, rabbits and chicken. At pet stores there are specially raised, healthy, and well-nourished animals. When choosing a red tail boa constrictor as a pet, visit the farm, but don't trust the pictures.
